Frequently Asked Questions for Brides

Q: How do I book your services for my wedding/event?
A: Simply email me or contact me by phone, with the date of your event, the time, location, and the number of people that require services. I will confirm with you, whether I’m available. Once I have received your information and we confirm everything, your date will be reserved in my schedule. Please note that I accept all major credit cards, checks, money orders and cash for payments. Please note that gratuity is at your discretion and not included in any of my pricing.

Q: Do you offer make-up consultations or trial runs?
A: Yes. The process can last from to 2-3 hours and is $75-$90. This is an optional service that is not included in the price for wedding day makeup on-location, and is available at your request. I offer complimentary phone consultations for destination brides who cannot physically be in the area until the day of the wedding. Many brides schedule a trial anywhere from a few months to a few weeks prior to their wedding.

Q: Do you do Airbrush makeup?

A: No. While I do love airbrush and its qualities, I feel it is not for everyone, and typically we create a flawless finish without it. I can offer different foundation options during the trial so that you can make a decision that best suits your skin type and personal taste.

Q: What services do you offer?
A: Make-up application for head shots, special event, boudoir, TV, commercial, film, etc. private make-up lessons/consultations false lash application, brow shaping, light hair styling/blow out

Please note I work with a team of dedicated and talented beauty artisans. This includes hairstylists, waxers, aestheticians, and dermatologists. All of your beauty needs and services can be expertly handled worry free.

Q: Do you travel to my location or do I have to come to you?
A: Yes, all wedding day of services will typically be performed on location, but if needed, I can accommodate your wedding party at my studio. Trial runs and consultations are typically conducted from my studio in Minneapolis, MN, or arrangements can be made to come to you for the trial if necessary.

Q: Do you stay to do touch-ups on the bride until the bride is ready to walk down the aisle?
A: Depending on your consultation, and the timing of your specific wedding day, you may want me to stay to do touch-ups right until you are ready to walk down the aisle. This is optional and not really necessary unless it is mid-summer and you will be taking pictures outside prior to the wedding.  If this is the case, yes, I can stay anywhere from 1- 3 hours after everyone is finished with their hair and makeup to do touch-ups until you are ready to walk down the aisle. Please note an additional fee may apply.

Q: Can you accommodate large bridal parties?
A: Yes. Depending on your party size I will need to hire an additional makeup artist to come on-location with me. Specific deposit and travel conditions may apply to your contract when hiring additional team members.

Q: Is there a travel fee?

A: For locations more than 25 miles outside of Twin City proper, a travel fee will be charged based on mileage or airfare. I try to keep my rates reasonable and would be happy to provide you with a quote prior to booking.

Q: What kind of makeup do you use?
A: I use a little bit of everything. I spend massive amounts of time researching and investing in the latest beauty innovations as well as those that are tried and true. As any artist can attest, this is a never-ending
process. My main brands of choice are MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Lancôme, Kiehl’s, La Mer, L’Oreal, Benefit, Chanel, Makeup For Ever, and Smashbox. I try to research what works best for our hot, humid MN summer climate, i.e. waterproof, sweat resistant etc. and also what works best for each person’s skin type and tone. I also love learning from my clients, so if you have a specific favorite, feel free to recommend it or bring it to your consultation.

Q: Do you have experience with Ethnic/Asian/Acne/Mature skin types?
A: Yes. I prefer to custom-blend each make-up application. This allows me to match any skin tone, no matter how dark or light. I love working on every ethnicity. I also have a full range of professional skin care products that I use to prepare delicate, mature skin or sensitive, acne-prone skin before makeup application, to achieve the best results.
Q: How long will my makeup stay on?
A: If I’ve applied your makeup, it will last all day, until you remove it at night.

Q: What happens if I cry or sweat?
A: Don’t worry! Everything I use for weddings is high end, and waterproof when possible. During the trial we will discuss what items you might want to have on hand for touch-ups but most of my bridal clients generally use blotting papers, pressed powder and their lip color or gloss of choice for touch-ups during the event.

Q: Can I bring someone with me to the consultation?
A: Yes, you may bring 1 relative or friend with you to the consultation. Please do not bring children, pets, or additional people as it can sometimes be a lengthy process; it is best for all involved to be focused solely on you, the Bride, and your glamorous look for the big day.

Q: Is your pricing negotiable or are there any discounts?
A: Not really, I do sometimes offer services for trade, so if you have something in mind please feel free to email me  When it comes to hiring a beauty expert for on-location, personal services, I truly believe you get what you pay for. When you hire me, you are hiring an experienced, licensed professional that comes to you, and is an expert in skincare and make-up artistry. The level of skill and expertise that you can expect is far superior to the general person that claims to be a makeup artist “because they love makeup”.
